We’ll help you learn the foundational principles you need for success along with the finer points you need to excel and build your skills for a lifetime of great casts.
Half Day Cocktail Hour Floats. A shorter 2.5 mile float trip on the Wild & Scenic Lower Deschutes River during the late afternoon + early evening. The McKenzie River originates high in the Cascade Mountains and travels 90 miles to its confluence with the Willamette River. This is a gorgeous Wild and Scenic river set within a dense forest of Douglas Fir, Western Hemlock, and Western Red Cedar. This day float trip is primarily from the boat fishing and casting, with some wading options. Season runs from late April to October. Beginner & Advanced Anglers Welcome! Half Day trips may also be available.

Private fly fishing school: Perfect for beginners, or those that are new to the sport that want to learn more, we cover all the basics including equipment, casting and presentation, mending, knot tying, reading the water, basic entomology and fly selection, wading techniques and more. We also offer more specific schools for the advanced angler looking to increase their skills or to learn a new technique. These take place throughout Central Oregon at a variety of locations.

Full-Day float trips are available on the Wild & Scenic Lower Deschutes River, the most popular float is 10 miles long from Warm Springs to Trout Creek from late April on annually. Beautiful High Desert scenery and wildlife abound. Lower Deschutes fishing is not allowed from the boat, wading casting only, the boat is used for transportation to various fishing sites. 2024 Season : Half day trips (when available) from $475 (1 person), $75 each additional person (3 anglers max). Half day trips (when available) include approximately 4 hours of guided fly fishing. Also included in your guide trip fee is all-inclusive fly fishing equipment, river shuttle, rental boots and waders, and a souvenir water bottle, yours to keep! 2024 Season : Private casting lessons, single hand or two hand spey rod $65 per hour, minimum 2 hour lesson per person. $30 for each additional angler. Private casting lessons can take place at a variety of beautiful locations in Central Oregon, including your home or vacation rental property with minimum space requirements. Fall Steelhead, Winter and early Spring single full-day float trips are available on the Lower Deschutes River from the Maupin area. This stretch of the river is gorgeous and quiet during the off-season times of the year when the Lower Deschutes river is closed. All fly fishing equipment, river shuttle, rental boots and waders, food and beverages provided.

2024 Season : Full day trips from $575 (1 person), +$75 per additional person (2 anglers max). We do not allow a third angler on the McKenzie River float trips due to from-the-boat fishing logistics on this river. If you have 3 or more anglers we suggest booking a McKenzie River Walk and Wade trip rather than a float trip. Full day trips include approximately 8 hours of guided fly fishing, along with a pre-prepared boxed lunch & beverages (non-alcoholic). Also included in your guide trip fee is all-inclusive fly fishing equipment, river shuttle, rental boots and waders, and a souvenir water bottle, yours to keep! Half day float guide trips (when available) include approximately 4 hours of guided fly fishing.
